Traffic Safety Education

In between January and March of the year 2009 under review TTS were engaged in imparting training on “Traffic Education” for the students of class IX and X of Ten different schools.

To spread mass awareness on road safety the “Road Safety Week-2009” was observed by TTS in between 5th and 11th January, 09. More than 900 students / volunteers / Cadets of 30 school / NCCs / NGOs performed duty in 30 important road crossing of the city.

TTS and TCC took active part in an exhibition which was held at “Shyam Park” from 16.01.09 to 25.01.09.

Traffic Training

Fifteen days’ refresher course for the newly posted Constable of TP Guards was organized at PTS from 3.12.08 to 20.12.08 under supervision of the TTS. The constables were imparted practical as well theoretical training during the Refresher Course. Altogether 60 TP Constables from different TP Guards and Sections completed the training.

Mass Awareness Programme

'Road Safety Week' was observed from 07/01/2008 to 13/01/2008 more than 900 students of different Schools/Volunteers of different N.G.Os/Cadets of different N.C.C. and performed duty in 29 important crossings of the city. Closing ceremony as well as felicitation programme was held on 27/01/2008 at Kalamandir Auditorium.Traffic Warden's regularly attended parade drills for their fitness and traffic training.

Offending Driver's Training

A five day's training programme for the offending drivers were held at PTS from 12/02/2008 to 16/02/2008. Altogether 22 offending drivers were imported training. Another five days training programme for the offending drivers were held from 26/02/2008 to 01/03/2008. Altogether 13 offending drivers were imported training.

Non-offending/Police Drivers Training

One days W/shop on 'Safe Driving & Driver's responsibility towards the society held on 02/03/2008,08/03/2008,15/03/2008,23/03/2008 and 30/03/2008 at PTS. Altogether 240 Police Drivers were successfully imparted training on safe driving techniques, Traffic Signals, Road Marking ctc.

Out-Side work shop/Seminar/Lecture ect

Traffic Department took active part in a Science Exhibition organised by 'Sanhati' a social organization, from 18/01/2008 to 20/01/2008. During the programme we not only tried level best to spread awareness on road safety to the common citizens of various age group buy also organized an 'Essay Contest' & 'Memory Test' for the visitors of the exhibition which earned high level of appreciation form all corners of the society.
