Whereas it is necessary in the interest of public safety and expeditious movement of traffic along Old Ballygunge 2 nd Lane and Ballygunge Park, 1, Goutam Mohan Chakrabarti , Commissioner of Police , Kolkata , in exercise of powers vested in me under section 115 and 116 M.V. Act, 1988, Section 62, 62 (IB) of Calcutta Police Act. 1866,39,39(1B) of Calcutta Subn. Police Act 1866 read with Rule no 85,86,87,88, and 93 of the Ruless for the Regulation of Traffic in Kolkata and its suburbs and under Sub-Section (1) of Section 4 of the West Bengal Traffic Regulation Act , 1965 (W.B.Act XV of 1965) read with Govt. of West Bengal Home (Transport) Deptt. Order No. 7605-WT.Dated 20the July 1965 and Govt. of West Bengal in Transport Deptt. Notification No.3363-WT/3M/34/99 dated 29 th April, 1999, do hereby order, in supervision of all previous orders or notifications on the subject, all class vehicles entraining any through of part of a thoroughfare specified below.

Vehicles belonging to Kolkata Police Force attending urgent Calls, fire apparatus belonging to the Fire Brigade proceeding to attend fires and Ambulance carrying patients are exempted from the above regulation only in case of exigency.
The order shall come into force from 27 th July, 2009 in addition to the restrictions which are not repugnant to above and remain valid until further order.
