While Sgt. Bipul Chakrobroty was performing duty at the crossing of AJC Bose road and Alimuddin Street on 06.02.06 for covering the line-up report of Ho'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, at around 4 pm a road traffic accident took place in front of the main gate of Gana Shakti Bhavan. A person (later identified as one of the conductors of the same bus) fell down from a bus of rout no.223 and got run over under the rear wheel of the vehicle. Sgt. Chakrobroty rushed to the spot, rescued the injured person and arranged for his hospitalization. Thereafter he intercepted the bus and handed it over to R.F.S. (3) Officer. He also visited the hospital where the victim succumbed to his injury. Chakroborty took steps in getting the victim identified
A Timely Rescue Act
On 11.03.06 at around 2.20 pm a passenger, traveling by a private bus route no 30D informed Sgt. Saibal Paul that a person was trying to kidnap two children. The Officer took prompt action and managed to rescue the children from the bus near Maulali crossing. The accused was arrested and handover to S.I. S Biswas of Sec-O1 for necessary action.
Humanity Comes First
Sgt. Prosenjit Chatterjee adandoned his first and foremost duty of escorting the Governor of the State to the assembly and aided a broken down ambulance carrying a patient, to be dragged by a wrecker to a nursing home. Chatterjee later said that he was certain that any of his colleagues would had done what he did and felt that he did nothing extraordinary. His modesty speaks for himself.
