Touch of Humanity

Insp. Sati Jiban Nath and Sgt Kaushik Dutta of SET TP Grd are awarded G.S.Mark for their excellent performance. On 27/07/09 at about 21:35 hrs the said Inspr and Sgt were successful in arresting two persons with arms and ammunition near C.E.S.C.Office on Gariahat Rd. After receiving information from a taxi driver, they put their own lives in danger to nab these two armed miscreants. Their extraordinary performance was covered by all the leading Newspapers and T.V Channels and they were commended by all their Superior Officers.

Constable 11598 Khokan Chandra Das of HBR TP Grd, is rewarded Rs 100/- for his exemplary performance of duties while on traffic duty at the crossing of Strand Rd and Raja Woodmount St. on 15/01/09 at about 17:30 hrs. He chased and caught red-handed one thief running away after snatching a gold chain from the neck of a lady. Thereafter, the said constable handed over the snatcher to Sgt. S Sanyal of Sec D on the arrival of the latter.

A Timely Rescue Act

Sgt S Kar Sgt N Hossain and of VSR TP Grd were awarded Rs. 200/- each for good work done. On 26/10/09 at about 16:40 hrs Sgt S. Kar got information through air by TCR to intercept a C/Bus bearing registration NO BRI AP 9062 which was allegedly carrying animals. On receiving the information, Sgt S. Kar alongwith Sgt N. Hossain who was performing duty nearby, rushed at Babughat and were successful in locating the bus and apprehended the bus owner and illegal cattle.

Sgt I.N. Chowdhury and Sgt M Soukat of STH TP Grd are rewarded Rs 200 each. On 25/11/09 at about 11:30 hrs Sgt I.N Chowdhury received information through air by TP Constable and then by Sgt M Soukat, who was performing duty on Park Street, to intercept the vehicle bearing reg. no. WB 024/1074 (Silver colour Hyundai Getz). Sgt I.N Chouwdhury intercepted the Vehicle in front of Asiatic Society on Park St. After a short while Sgt M Soukat came to the spot along with the driver of the stolen vehicle and from the driver Sgt. I.N Chowdhury came to know the vehicle was snatched from the owner from R.A Kidway Rd near BATA S.I. S, K Singha Roy of Sec K1 took over charge of the vehicle and the detained person and also the complainant.

Sgt Sajal Kumar Dutta of HBE Traff ic Guard is rewarded Rs. 200. On 04/02/09 at about 17:30 hrs, while performing traff ic duty at the crossing of M G Road and Strand Rd., he arrested 3 miscreants along with Rs. 49,500 in cash and accordingly informed O/C HBE TP Grd and O/C TCR.

Constable 11598 of HBE TP Grd. is rewarded Rs. 1000 only for his examplary performance of duties at the crossing of M.G. Road and Strand Road on 15/01/009 at about 15:30 hrs. He caught red-handed the snatcher Liton Sen (27) while he was running away after snatching the gold necklace of Smt. Babli Das while she was crossing M.G. Road near Strand Rd.

Humanity Comes First

Sgt Debjyoti Koner of EST TP Grd, is rewarded Rs.200 for his “Good work done”. On 16/04/09 while he was performing TP Duty in his area. At about 13:45 hrs one person, namely Mr. Ashim Banerjee, aged 55 yrs, was driving one Wagon R Reg No WB02K-3474 on Sarat Bose Rd. in front of Nepal Sweets. One unknown goods vehicle crashed into him. As a result Mr. Banerjee became senseless. Sgt D Konar came to the spot and removed him to Sishu   Mangal Hospital for treatment.

Sgt Arijit Ghosh of EST TP Grd is rewarded Rs. 200.On 09.03.09 when he was performing traff ic duty in the guard area, he received information from the guard that one man was lying on the footpath near Mouchank Sweet Shop on AJC Bose Rd. He reached there and removed the sick person to CR MH for treatment. He found on the sick man his identity card, some phone numbers and some money amounting to Rs. 5650 which he deposited to ASI H R Roy of CRMH Out Post for safe custody.

Sgt Indra Narayan Chowdhury of STH TP Grd is rewarded Rs 200. At about 12:05 hrs, a middle aged lady, Swapna Ghosh, came and informed him that she had mistakenly left her hand bag containing gold ornament and money in a CTC Bus which was plying towards   Esplanade. The said Sgt immediately chased the Bus and intercepted it at Darina crossing and handed over the bag to the lady.
