"Kolkata is a metropolis with a very limited road space and one of the highest vehicle density ratios. Understandably, without cooperation from all stakeholders including the public at large, it is not possible for traffic police alone to manage the city traffic smoothly. |
|
|
Therefore, on joining as the new Commissioner of Police of this historic city, I appeal to all concerned to follow the Rules of the Road, to obey speed limits and have consideration for fellow travellers. This will go a long way in achieving our objectives of increasing the speed of vehicle, reducing accidents and reducing vehicular pollution load in the city. "
